Technical Training Instructor
For our client, we are recruiting a Technical Training Instructor, for Abu Dhabi, Barakah Power Plant.
This role involves full engagement with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) instructional design model, ensuring effective training delivery and continuous improvement. Administrative responsibilities include supporting training documentation, database maintenance, and compliance with training standards.
Training Delivery and Development
- Deliver general training programs including Plant/Site Access, Nuclear Performance Improvement (NPI), and Health & Safety to staff and supplemental workers;
- Conduct needs analyses to determine training and non-training solutions, such as workshops and awareness sessions;
- Design and develop training materials and assessments aligned with the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology;
- Maintain and update training content to ensure alignment with regulatory and program requirements;
- Administer, invigilate, and evaluate exams and assessments for both general and technical training courses;
- Prepare all training materials and facilities, including handouts and examination papers, for scheduled sessions.
Training Program Evaluation and Improvement
- Collect and analyse trainee feedback to assess training effectiveness;
- Conduct post-training evaluations to determine real-world application of skills and knowledge;
- Identify opportunities for program improvement based on assessment results and trainee performance;
- Support training audits and quality assurance processes to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
Training Expertise and Support
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in developing and maintaining training materials;
- Support scheduling and coordination of training activities and facility requirements;
- Design and provide input on eLearning modules to meet training standards and learner needs;
- Manage procurement and tracking of training-related equipment and materials.
- Degree or equivalent in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline;
- Degree or equivalent in Education or Occupational Training & Development (OD-ETDP);
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in training or technical instruction;
- Proven ability to apply instructional systems design, particularly the ADDIE and SAT models;
- Certified Instructor or equivalent teaching/training certification;
- Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments (oil and gas);
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and training management systems;
- Demonstrated excellence in facilitation, instructional delivery, and cross-functional communication;
- Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills to manage complex training programs;
- Proven analytical thinking with a focus on continuous improvement and training effectiveness;
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital training platforms;
- Commitment to accurate, clear, and regulatory-compliant documentation;
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt across diverse cultural and professional environments;
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written); Arabic proficiency is an asset in regional or multinational settings;
- Sound understanding of nuclear safety culture, regulatory frameworks and training standards is advantageous;
- Ability to deliver technical training aligned with SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) methodology;
- Skilled in performance assessment, trainee evaluation, and feedback delivery;
- High degree of professional integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence;
- Demonstrated resilience under pressure, with the ability to manage priorities in mission-critical environments;
- Strong team orientation, with the capability to collaborate with international stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams;
- Willingness to travel and work in multinational nuclear projects or field-based training scenarios.
