AOV/MOV Supervisor - Nuclear
The AOV/MOV Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating Motor-Operated Valve (MOV) and Air-Operated Valve (AOV) maintenance activities during nuclear plant outages.
The role ensures the safe planning, execution and close-out of outage work scopes while maintaining compliance with nuclear safety regulations, plant operating procedures, environmental requirements and industry best practices. The position also provides technical leadership, supports complex troubleshooting activities and coordinates multidisciplinary teams to achieve outage objectives safely, on schedule and within budget.
Outage Planning & Execution
Lead the preparation, planning, execution and close-out of assigned MOV/AOV maintenance work scopes during plant outages.
Coordinate system work windows for outage activities (turbine, generator, feedwater and other plant systems).
Ensure outage milestones are achieved while maintaining Nuclear Safety requirements.
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned system windows throughout all outage phases.
Monitor outage progress and resolve technical or scheduling issues affecting execution.
Ensure all work complies with the nuclear plant procedures, nuclear regulations and quality standards.
System Window Coordination
Coordinate MOV/AOV maintenance activities across all outage phases.
Develop and manage system window schedules.
Resolve schedule conflicts between Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Radiation Protection and Procurement.
Coordinate multidisciplinary planning meetings to ensure alignment between stakeholders.
Liaise with Operations and Nuclear Risk Management to eliminate schedule-driven nuclear safety risks.
Prepare reports and performance metrics to monitor outage progress and identify recovery actions when required.
Technical Leadership
Provide technical guidance during maintenance execution and complex troubleshooting activities.
Support engineering evaluations, operational decision-making and temporary modifications.
Review work scope requirements and ensure maintenance activities are executed according to approved procedures.
Apply extensive mechanical maintenance expertise throughout outage execution.
Ensure all activities are focused on maintenance rather than commissioning.
Risk Management
Identify, evaluate and mitigate outage risks associated with MOV/AOV maintenance.
Develop recovery strategies for activities that could impact outage schedules.
Plan high-risk evolutions in accordance with nuclear industry standards and procedures.
Ensure shutdown safety is maintained throughout outage execution.
Maintenance Supervision
Supervise maintenance personnel and contractors during outage execution.
Coordinate manpower allocation and resource utilization.
Monitor productivity, work quality and schedule adherence.
Ensure effective communication between all departments involved in outage activities.
Health, Safety & Security
Ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Security policies.
Promote a strong nuclear safety culture.
Ensure compliance with Crisis Management and Business Continuity requirements.
Support Emergency Response Organization (ERO) activities when required, including shift or off-hours work.
People Management

Job Context
- The position requires a strong understanding of nuclear plant systems to safely execute maintenance activities without impacting plant operations or nuclear safety.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Nuclear or Power Plant maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience during plant outages or turnarounds.
- Strong experience in MOV/AOV maintenance.
- Maintenance experience is essential; commissioning experience alone is not considered suitable.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of nuclear power plant maintenance.
- Extensive experience with Motor Operated Valves (MOV) and Air Operated Valves (AOV).
- Good understanding of outage planning and execution.
- Ability to read and interpret outage plans.
- Good understanding of work scope planning and execution.
- Knowledge of valve maintenance and heavy lifting operations.
- Familiarity with MS Project and/or Primavera.

- Successfully complete Permit Holder qualification.
